We are overflowing with joy and pride to announce the official grand opening of our new Kiddies Corner Childcare Center on Morton Street in Mattapan! This isn’t just a new school; it’s the culmination of years of work and a dream to serve our community, celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Boston’s most dedicated leaders, including Mayor Michelle Wu and Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley.
A Mayoral Endorsement for “Care That Works”

This new center was opened with the full endorsement of the city. Mayor Michelle Wu, who has been a champion for childcare, spoke at the event, calling this new center a model for the future and a vital investment for the city.
Our founder, Ann Osula, praised the Mayor’s commitment, noting, “she is there for everybody… when you’re looking for progress… the mayor is going to get this happened”.
This new facility is a proud partner in Boston’s “Care That Works” innovative pilot program. This groundbreaking initiative, in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office and community labor groups, is designed to solve one of the biggest challenges for working families: finding childcare outside of standard 9-to-5 hours.
Our center will have slots reserved for families that work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends, with care available for workers who start as early as 5:00 AM. As Mayor Wu stated, this is about ensuring “child care is the infrastructure that everything else is built on”.
A Community Effort with Visionary Leaders

The day was made even more special by the powerful words of Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley. A long-time advocate for accessible childcare, Congresswoman Pressley spoke about the importance of this center, noting that “families need the peace of mind that while they’re working, regardless of when their shift starts, that their child is in a safe and nurturing environment”.
She celebrated our very own Ann Osula for “leading with love” and for pouring her heart into making this center a reality for families who need it most.
This milestone was truly a community victory, made possible by the “indefatigable efforts” of our partners, including SEIU 509, Community Labor United, Boston Medical Center, and so many others who believe in our mission.
We are honored to open our doors and begin this new chapter. Kiddies Corner is more than just a childcare center; it is a safe, loving, and supportive space for all of Mattapan’s children to learn, grow, and thrive, no matter when their parents’ workday begins.
